Waste Oil Collection Centres

Last modified: July 16, 2008 - 3:24 PM

Waste oil contains hazardous materials that are toxic and carcinogenic and are harmful to the environment when irresponsibly discarded.

Council now has waste sump oil collection tanks in its four towns. These waste oil recovery tanks have been installed under the Commonwealth government's waste oil facility grant program.

Waste oil recovery tanks are located in the following centres. Residents are able to dispose of their waste sump oil during the hours as indicated.

Tocumwal
Tocumwal Tip
Wed, Fri, Sun 1:30pm-4pm

Finley
Finley Recycling Centre
Sun 8:30am-12 noon

Berrigan

Sun 1:30pm-5pm

Barooga
Barooga Council Depot
Tue-Thur 10am-12 noon

Residents are reminded that these tanks are designed to accept waste sump oil only and not paint, chemicals or vegetable oils. Combining sump oil with other types of oil or chemicals is both potentially dangerous and may severely inhibit the recycling process.
